Where did October go?
Seriously, I do not know if I have ever packed more into one month than in the past 30 days. I know you don't want a detailed 30-day recap, so here are the highlights:
African Dinner (Southern Style)
The month started out with my parents graciously hosting 2 African Dinners for us in Louisiana (in 1 day, mind you...) in which we got to share about the ministry in Bundi and our vision for the future there...
We then immediately flew to South Florida for our week-long ECHO training (see post HERE)
UBEDA WEDDING
I then had the privilege of being in one of my BFF's wedding to her new BFF Alex (let me tell you, these two know how to
rock the house!)
TOPPER WEDDING
The following weekend Olive had the privilege of jumping on her second plane trip in one month to join me in watching this adorably happy couple say their nuptials! Beth Anne was my very first best friend (in 4th and 5th grade) and we have kept in touch ever since they moved to Texas in 6th grade. Believe it or not, we have not seen each other in 8 years since my wedding!!! What an incredibly special occasion to see her again and meet her now-husband!
And, in between these two weddings (1 week apart), a HUGE event took place...are you ready?
WE GOT A CONTRACT ON OUR HOUSE!!!!
We officially hand over the keys 11/26, and have started the moving out process already!
3 Men & a Truck
Daddy's Little Helper
As you can tell, she's more enthralled with the tools than anything else...
And here's how I found my hard workers when I went to beckon them for lunch...
When Lucy walked in & saw this scene, she looked at me and said
"Bye, Bye House!" yes, sweet girl, it's time to say byebye...
So, there you have it!
October has been the busiest month of our life, and it's not looking like it's slowing down anytime soon! Maybe that is God's mercies to us as we wrestle through this huge transition period in our lives. So far, I have been able to put aside sentiment and really hold it together. But please be praying for us- me and the girls have come down with sickness this week, Derek has been under a lot of stress, there's lots to do and never enough time to do it. But, such is life, right?
Thanks for walking it with us hand in hand...we wouldn't be on this journey without YOU.

So thrilled with and for you guys, Lauren and Derek! I praise the Lord with you for the contract on your house, and so clearly see the Lord's faithfulness to you guys as you move towards the field in more and more ways. Rejoicing with you! Love,
